Asserting that the BJP-led Union Government was committed to bringing back black money stashed away in foreign banks, Union Minister for Defence Manohar Parrikar said that the Government was in the process of securing credible information about the black money parked abroad. He said the government is firm on acting against the culprits and would impose heavy taxes on them. Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, he said the Government would not compromise on the issue of black money and no person or firm would be spared if found guilty. Responding to another question, he said that infiltration across the borders in Assam and Pakistan has drastically come down due to the firm handling by the BJP government. He said that after the NDA government came to power, the patrolling along the borders and the Line of control and that there have been no untoward incidents.
However, the minister admitted there was some disturbance on the Arunachal Pradesh border with the Chinese army trying to trying to construct some structures inside the Indian territory. However, Indian Army demolished these structures and pushed out the Chinese. The minister said that the BJP Government is giving top priority to National Highways and rail connectivity and electrification. As much as Rs 1.25 lakh crores were being spent on these three, he said. The Union Minister said that the National Highways were being constructed at the rate of 30 km per day.
